FiSA Awards – the food industry “Oscar”

On the day of the event’s inauguration, approximately 300 visitors, exhibitors and participants of Fi South America, attended the Fi South America Awards, which is considered the food industry “Oscar”.

Sadia, winner of the category “Most Innovating Food Product 2007/2008”, presented its Microwaveable Pizza, available in two flavors calabresa and chicken with cream cheese. "Winning the Fi SA Awards shows that we are on the right path and we are recognized, not just by consumers, but also by market professionals”, reveals Gustavo Franco, specialist in marketing and product manager. Dori Alimentos and Grupo Pão de Açúcar were other finalists in this category.

Now the winner of the “Most Innovating Food Ingredient”, Gelita do Brasil brought RTE-ICE, a gelatin that has the function of promoting topping for popsicles that jellifies in less than a minute at room temperature, adding benefits such as low calories, absence of fat and less sugar, besides the esthetic appeal brought by the product . Vice-president of marketing and sales of Gelita do Brasil, Claudia Yamana, reveals that this is the third year when Gelita is among the finalists, proving the market’s acknowledgement and brand’s consistency in promoting innovation.

In March, the judging committee evaluated the 25 products that competed for the FiSA Awards. The criteria evaluated were: innovation and technical originality; benefits for the final consumer; complexity of technology and manufacturing; and economic impact.
